Male Discipleship Opportunity
Over the last year and a half, we’ve met a lot of men in a lot of difference places — rich, poor, homeless, lonely, fathers, sons, young, and old. Time and time again, men have expressed a need for something more, something deeper. They sense that something just isn’t right. Something is missing. Men aren’t okay.
God created men in all their masculinity for a purpose. In today’s culture, men are left unsure about what their place is. Seemingly the world has no need for men. The Church, too, focuses on women and children, while giving men a quarterly breakfast at best.
God has bigger plans. Men were created to work side-by-side. Men have a purpose in God’s kingdom and are critical to the mission on the church. Men need fellowship, discipleship, and encouragement. The Church isn’t healthy when it’s men are hurting.
To this end, Fr. Michael is offering an intensive 12-week discipleship program to help men discover and live into who God made them to be.
Meeting one evening a week, we’ll unpack what it means to be a man and how we can reclaim and exercise our masculinity to the service of Christ and His kingdom. We’ll learn how to be better fathers, husbands, and sons. We’ll learn how God made us to serve and lead. We’ll challenge each other and we’ll build each other up.
The group is forming now and because of the intensive nature of this program, space is limited. E-mail info@christouranchor.org to reserve your space. Men ages 16 and up are welcome.
This is an amazing opportunity to grow in Christian maturity alongside men from all walks of live.

New Location!
We are excited to announce some big changes at Christ our Anchor!
Starting Wednesday, September 11, we will begin meeting at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church near Richland Park.
We’ve been worshiping with St. Andrew’s on Sundays for a while, so it’s great to see this partnership grow. St. Andrew’s has provided a warm welcome to our apprentices and we are blessed by their willingness to extend their fellowship to Wednesdays, too.
Cards and flyers for our new location will be printed soon and will be available from Michael+. Let him know if you need some to share with our brothers on the streets.

Sacred Heart of Jesus
This June, as last year, we will be joining our Roman sisters and brothers in daily praying the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In our devotions we will pray especially that the Lord look with favor on those who struggle to remain chaste in our culture; a culture that celebrates lust and disvalues human bodies.
I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. Gen 9:13
As we look at the sea of rainbows around us, we will not get angry. In compassion, we will pray for those led astray. We will pray that Christ, in His mercy, gives us the words to express His deep love for people. We will pray that the Spirit falls upon the Church to renew us and to empower us to support God’s people against the buffetings of Satan.
The rainbow reminds us, that God has not forgotten. He sees us. He loves us. He died for us. He rose on the third day, and He will return again to make all things new.
“Jesus, meek and humble of heart. Make our hearts like unto thine.”

🔊 Not of This World
Remember, friends, Jesus has defeated death. We will live forever with him in his kingdom. We are not of this world, but of the world that is to come with his return. Keep the faith. Stay strong in the struggles. Pray and know that he listens.
